François-Xavier TESTARD-VAILLANT

François-Xavier TESTARD-VAILLANT is currently the representative of the EDF Group research laboratories in Brussels. He used to be Maître de Conférences at Ecole Normale Supérieure in France before being appointed as a Science Attaché at the French Embassy in Tokyo and then in Washington DC. In 2000, back in France, he co-founded a start-up company mixing IT technologies and music. In 2003, he joined EDF R&D. Six years later, François-Xavier left Paris to live and work in Beijing where he was in charge of investing several M€ in a Chinese venture fund and of identifying and assessing Chinese, Korean and Japanese start-up companies.
