At the Energy Lab, you will be able to pitch your project or idea in front of an audience and a panel of energy experts who will provide you with insights and strategies to take your project to the next level.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The call to pitch at the Energy Lab of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2019 is open to the following entities that have a project, action, or activity that is innovative, impactful, inspiring, and scalable or replicable:
- Social enterprises;
- Citizens’ initiatives;
- Networks of national, regional/local authorities, agencies, or other public bodies;
- Industry or professional associations;
- SMEs or start-ups.
Professional event organisers or businesses aiming to promote specific products or services are not eligible.
The project or idea pitches will take place on 19 and 20 June 2019 in front of a panel of energy experts and a live audience.
Each pitch will last up to 10 minutes:
- Presentation of your project/idea: 3 minutes
- Feedback from panel of experts: 4 minutes
- Questions and answers with the audience: 3 minutes
The selected contributors will be provided with a laptop with Wi-Fi connection, a projection screen and a microphone.
EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS
Proposals for the Energy Lab activities will be evaluated by a panel of European Commission officials. They will consider the information provided in the online application form and the following aspects:
What is your motivation to pitch your project or idea at EUSEW? What is the expected outcome of the pitch? What actions will you take to promote your presence among the EUSEW participants and beyond?
What are the key elements of the proposed contribution? How do these fit with the ‘A Clean Planet for all’ long-term strategy? What are the solutions and benefits for society at large? Do not forget to briefly describe the potential impact and replicability, unique value, and business models applicable.

DEADLINE AND NEXT STEPS
The deadline for applications was at 23.59 CET on 1 APRIL 2019. You will be informed of the results in May 2019.
