II SOSTURMAC open days: energy efficiency and renewable energies for the promotion of sustainable tourism
Participants will have the opportunity to know SOSTURMAC Project (Sustainable interventions on natural and architectural heritage and development of low-carbon tourism initiatives in the Canary Islands and in Cape Verde), co-financed by the EU INTERREG MAC 2014-2020. ITER leds this project, transferring its experience in the development of low carbon technologies and in the management of a Zero CO2 tourist accommodation: ITER Bioclimatic Houses. The Tenerife Energy Agency, organizes guided tours to the Renewable Energies Walkway combined with a practical workshop about urban development planning and heritage in order to raise awareness about the importance of using bioclimatic architecture criteria, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the domestic and tourism sector. The event will show how the sustainable tourism can be an opportunity for socioeconomic improvement and environmental protection, promoting sustainable actions on the natural and architectural heritage.
