Sustainable Energy Europe and ManagEnergy Awards

The 2014 Sustainable Energy Europe and ManagEnergy Awards competition is closed. We would like to thank all of you for taking the time to send us your project description.

We are now evaluating the eligibility of all submitted entries. All participants will receive a personalised email with a project identification number as well as the final eligibility confirmation. The Awards Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), which gathers nine technical experts in different sustainable energy areas, will evaluate all eligible entries against the assessment criteria.

Five projects will be shortlisted per category. Nominees will be informed via email and phone on 19 and 20 May 2014. They will be able to send updated information on their project before the winners are declared by the jury.

The jury of the Sustainable Energy Europe and ManagEnergy Awards 2014 includes representatives from different sectors: European institutions, local governments, energy agencies, specialised media and industry associations.

Nominated projects will be invited to Brussels to present their project in a special networking event organised by the EUSEW Secretariat on behalf of the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (EASME). The event will be a highlight of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2014 (23-27 June 2014).

Winners will be announced on Wednesday 25 June at the European Commission’s Charlemagne building with the presence of Commissioner for Energy Günther H. Oettinger (tbc). As well as widespread media promotion, winning projects will receive a free audio-visual production documenting the value of their achievements.

  • Sustainable Energy Europe Awards

First launched in 2006, the SEE Awards recognise and promote outstanding projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean transport. The SEE Awards gather projects that contribute to the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth and have a proven impact. The competition is open to stakeholders from the public and private sector including SMEs, multi-national industry associations, academic institutions and NGOs. The SEE Awards integrate five different categories according to different policy strands: awareness-raising (Communicating), educational programmes (Learning), buildings (Living), energy savings (Consuming) and clean mobility (Travelling).

  • ManagEnergy Award

Regional and local public authorities have an essential role to play in achieving Europe’s 2020 climate and energy objectives. Launched in 2007, the ManagEnergy Award is expressly designed to reward their achievements. This year’s ManagEnergy Award will focus on local and regional public authorities and energy agencies that are addressing fuel poverty, implementing renewable energy projects or innovative financing schemes for sustainable energy actions.

Please note that the same project cannot participate in the two competitions simultaneously.
